This book was recommended by a friend who’s into finding himself too. Let us just say finding his life’s essence. He even teased me by telling me, “Tuesdays with Mari”. Well, kind’a bit funny if you know me. :D
Getting back to the book, when you read it you will find a story of a mentor and a student. You will surely relate to it when you have a mentor who is so precious to you. You can feel the emotion and honestly, I felt like I’m watching a drama film as I read each page. You will surely be carried away. Hmmm, let me give you a little background of the story.
Both, Morrie and Mitch had their own lives already after Mitch’s graduation. Mitch became successful with his chosen profession although had to make a u-turn at first to make things better on his career. Until one day, he heard that his favorite professor got sick. At first, he really doesn’t have the intention to meet him because of his busy schedule. However, he got guilty so he did visit Morrie. He found his professor inside the same house and with almost the same of everything in it. The only different thing now is his professor’s health status. Mitch was touched as he saw his professor slowly weaken by his sickness. They agreed to meet every Tuesday. On that day, they discuss different life’s lessons. They tackle about relationships, faith, hopes and dreams.
The aphorism that Morrie shared in the book that I can’t forget is, “when you’re in bed, you’re dead.” Now, you have to read the book to learn more about lessons shared freely by Morrie.
